About Pastor Dave

This is the 33st year that I have been doing this special trip.

We canoe into and camp for five days on a beautiful remote lake in the Canadian Wilderness just north of the Boundary Waters in Minnesota which is only accessible by boat or plane. There are no buildings or park maintained campsites. We are usually the only people on the ten mile long lake. You can see maps and pictures by clicking on Ross Lake and Photo Albums.

We began as a youth trip with up to 60 campers spread over four campsites, now we have parents who came as teens bringing their kids.

We currently limit the group size to 24 with the ideal size being 15 to 18. We usually do two or three smaller campsites within hollering distance of each other... One for teens 14 and up with adult supervision and the others for parent-child campers.

Children as young as five, with a parent, have done well if they have at least one other friend of similar age going.

This is not a business, I do the trip "at cost." To keep costs down we carpool and outfit ourselves...Everyone is expected to do their share and work as a team... Click on Trip Policies for more info.
