We set
up our kitchen and cover it with a big tarp
...just in case.
In the
bay is a sandy beach by campsite two ...infamously called
"Piggy Land."
Across
from the point are the diving cliffs everyone loves so much and
just down the lake are 300 foot climbing cliffs and a hidden 25
foot waterfall. |

Ross Lake is about ten miles long and over 100 feet
at it's deepest point with scenic cliffs rising up to 300 feet along
both sides. Walleye, Northern Pike, and
Small Mouth Bass, and Lake Trout are in abundance.
The water is so pure that we just dip
in and drink from our canoes. No buildings on it or roads to it... We
seldom see anyone else.
Our main campsite is by a rocky point
where we build a giant campfire and let it burn all night... some even
sleep around it. You can dive off it, fish from it, or tan on it.

Most
days are sunny and in the 80's, the water is brisk but not cold.
This is
the real wilderness, and we enjoy it as it should be...we have
seen moose, bear, wolves, loons, eagles, and much more. |
